The Conditional Fee Agreements (Revocation) Regulations 2005 revoke the Conditional Fee Agreements Regulations 2000, the Collective Conditional Fee Agreements Regulations 2000, the Conditional Fee Agreements (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2003 and the Conditional Fee Agreements (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No.2) Regulations 2003 from 1st November 2005.

In future, parties can sign Conditional Fee Agreements and Collective Conditional Fee Agreements based on the primary legislation.

After discussions with the Department for Constitutional Affairs which conducted a consultation exercise on this area, the Law Society has produced a new model form for Conditional Fee Agreements.

Practitioners who would like to know more about the operation of this new regime can read an article which was published in the Law Society's Gazette dated 18th August.

Because the Conditional Fee Agreements (Revocation) Regulations 2005 will not come into force until 1st November, practitioners should not use this new form before this date.
