You must login to download the contents of this EFIS.

The Law Society has made amendments to its Business Leases to comply with the provisions of the Code for Leasing Business Premises which can be downloaded from the website address at www.leasingbusinesspremises.co.uk.

Although this Code is voluntary, it is endorsed by major organisations and trade bodies within the property industry and is promoted by the Government which seeks to encourage fairness in commercial leases.

The main amendments which the Law Society has made to its Business Leases relate to provisions concerning insurance, assignment, alteration and rent review. A more detailed summary of these changes can be found on the Law Society’s website at www.lawsociety.org.uk.

Practitioners who wish to comply with the Code for Leasing Commercial Premises should use these latest editions of the Business Leases.
