On 20th May, the new Communities Secretary and Housing Secretary announced the immediate suspension of home information packs.
The Home Information Pack (Suspension) Order 2010 came into force on 21st May and suspends sections 155 to 159 of the Housing Act 2004 in relation to the content and provision of home information packs.
Subscribers to the Conveyancing range should no longer use HIP1-HIP6 in any transactions conducted on or after 21st May.
The Government intends to abolish home information packs by primary legislation “at the earliest opportunity.”
