Pursuant to EFIS No.64 last month, the Intellectual Property Office (or IPO for short) has inserted a privacy notice at the bottom of their Trade Mark forms to comply with the provisions of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when GDPR came into force on 25th May.
The IPO's Comptroller has issued directions under section 123(2A) of the Patents Rules 1977 about the use of these amended forms together with a guidance note which appeared in various journals and on the IPO's website from 25th May.
